OBJECTIVE: In an effort to strengthen strategic relationships with City of Miami Beach dignitaries, whose support of the Lincoln Road redevelopment agreement and Ritz-Carlton Residences project is critical to advancing those efforts forward, and build goodwill throughout the community, The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach and Sagamore South Beach ownership teams needed to create inroads with a variety of stakeholders in a very short period.

APPROACH: Since many of the community leaders the ownership team needed to build connections with are women, such as Commissioners Kristen Rosen Gonzalez, Laura Dominguez and Eileen Higgins, and with National Women’s Month just two months away, The Dana Agency collaborated to launch the inaugural Women Shaping Miami Power Breakfast and Panel at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach. The idea was to bring together female leaders across every industry and demographic to celebrate accomplishments, create mentorship opportunities, provide access to powerful and accomplished women, and give target elected officials a platform to share important messages with constituents. The Dana Agency prepared the original conceptualization deck and was tapped to propose and vet key panelists, moderators and emcees and support with event logistics.

RESULTS: With just about one month before the event, The Dana Agency secured Emmy Award-winning journalist Jennifer Valoppi as the Master of Ceremonies and the charitable organization Women of Tomorrow as beneficiary. The Dana Agency also secured one of the event’s distinguished panelists, Lissette Calderon, CEO of Neology Life, and media in attendance (including Commercial Observer and SocialMiami) and influencers (such as Kamika Fullwood). The Dana Agency was also responsible for securing the participation of Miami Beach Commissioners Kristen Rosen Gonzalez and Laura Dominguez, strengthening the relationship between the ownership group and key elected officials. Although Commissioner Eileen Higgins could not attend, the invitation opened up communications channels, and the team was able to secure a private meeting with her shortly after the event. The Dana Agency was also part of the Host Committee and contributed to ticket sales.
