“Into the Wild (Future)” at Sagamore South Beach
Sagamore South Beach, Miami Beach’s historic art deco hotel known for its year-round art programming and museum-quality exhibitions, is once again celebrating Miami Art Week with a series of interactive activations and events. This year’s theme will be “Into the Wild (Future).” From Wednesday, November 30, through Sunday, December 4, 2022, Jonathan Cowan Productions and Electric Ibiza, the same partners as Miami Music Week, will return to The Sagamore for a five-day Art Week takeover featuring hotel-wide displays, immersive audiovisual experiences, and mural artists such as Sebastien “Mr. D 1987” Boileau. The highlight of the five-day celebration will undoubtedly be the 21st edition of the iconic Sagamore Brunch on Saturday, December 3, which will welcome hundreds of industry leaders spanning art, entertainment and social media in one place starting at 9 a.m. As one of the most sought-after invites of Miami Art Week, this exclusive event consistently delivers the gold standard of the Miami art experience with numerous art activations, live art, fashion shows, NFT displays, special musical performances, gourmet catering, passed cocktails, mixology stations and more. In addition, Sagamore owner Ronit Neuman will speak about the Sagamore Art Platform, and starchitect Kobi Karp will speak about the importance of sustainability in Miami Beach. The Sagamore will also present a daily stream of events and pool and dance parties with world-class DJs from 1-11 p.m. daily, including live performances by Desert Hearts, Oscar G, and DJs Sasha and Danny Tenaglia.

The recently opened Arlo Wynwood, the first hotel in Miami’s preeminent creative and cultural district, presents “State of the Art,” the first large-scale hybrid installation by ThankYouX, a leader in the NFT space who is bridging the gap between the traditional art and crypto worlds. This project reimagines the use of blockchain technology as a medium rather than a tool for distribution. During Art Week, ThankYouX presents an installation consisting of four paintings broken into 400 equal tiles, creating 1,600 unique paired physical and digital artworks. Each painting distinctively expresses ThankYouX’s representation and exploration of digital information migrating through the internet, blockchain and cyberspace. Upon launch, participants will randomly be assigned a digital tile that corresponds with a section of one of the four paintings. Eventually, collectors will be able to claim the identical physical artwork. They will also be able to work directly with the secondary market to purchase additional, adjacent and connecting tiles to merge – and eventually claim – a larger section of the canvas.

The exhibit will be on view from Wednesday, November 30, through Sunday, December 4. The opening reception, taking place November 30 from 5-8 p.m., is free and open to the public. An artist talk is scheduled for 6 p.m.
