Café Bastille

Objective

The Dana Agency was tapped as PR Agency of Record for the highly anticipated opening of Café Bastille’s first Fort Lauderdale location, following the success of its beloved Downtown Miami café. Our goal was to generate impactful media coverage across print, digital, trade and broadcast outlets while establishing Café Bastille as the premier all-day brunch destination in Fort Lauderdale. 

Approach

We positioned Café Bastille as a Parisian-inspired lifestyle cafe bringing its vibey brunch culture to Fort Lauderdale’s waterfront. To introduce the concept, we hosted a grand opening celebration attended by 150+ guests, including top-tier media, influencers and VIPs. Guests enjoyed signature passed brunch bites, freshly made crêpes and omelets, a mimosa cart, spin-to-win pastry wheel, live DJ entertainment and Café Bastille gift bags. Through extensive media and influencer outreach, we secured attendance from outlets, including Eater Miami, Miami Herald, NBC 6, Aventura Magazine, Venice Magazine, GoRiverwalk, Thrillist, Newsbreak and SocialMiami, alongside prominent creators such as @miami_eats_official, @babymommafit, @victoriavesce, @VIPig and @lauderbabe. We also leveraged concierge and local community connections to build buzz, ensuring Café Bastille was positioned as both a neighborhood gem and a destination for regional visitors.

Results

The launch campaign delivered sustained visibility, securing more than 75 press and influencer placements across online, print, broadcast, newsletter, and social media channels, garnering more than 30 million impressions. Coverage included national and regional outlets such as Sun Sentinel, Miami Herald, Miami New Times, Ocean Drive, Time Out Miami, Tasting Table and CityBiz; lifestyle and local outlets, including Venice Magazine, Aventura Magazine, Las Olas Boulevard and Isles Magazine and Luxury Guide USA; and travel features from Travel Week and Visit Lauderdale. Influencer engagement included over 30 creators posting stories, reels, and in-feed content, including local voices and destination partners like @VisitLauderdale (123K followers).

We did such an outstanding job with the Fort Lauderdale launch that the client also hired us to manage PR efforts for their Miami Beach and Weston locations, as well as its new lifestyle concept, Maison Yoga.
