SPECIAL EVENTS / PROGRAMMING
“No One” by Giorgio Tentolini Opening Event – Wednesday, November 29
Arlo Wynwood, 2217 NW Miami Court, Miami, FL 33127
On Wednesday, November 29, at 6 p.m., Arlo Wynwood is debuting a thought-provoking exhibition with Italian artist Giorgio Tentolini called “No One.” Art enthusiasts can obsess over the exhibit during this special unveiling event to showcase his pieces that explore the complexity of identity in the digital age. Prompting viewers to question what’s real and what’s virtual, Tentolini’s work has been showcased in prestigious museums such as Italy’s Museo d’Arte della Città di Ravenna and Museo di Salò. He incorporates facial features and body parts from classical sculptures that dissolve into a sequence of mesh wire and tulle as viewers near them. Guests can head to MaryGold’s by Brad Kilgore on the first floor for a special Art Week menu, including a new dessert that showcases a playful reflection of Tentolini’s mesh wire compositions (think: Whipped Chocolate Curd, made with hazelnut and passion fruit exhibited on a pedestal of chocolate-covered mesh wiring and adorned in silver flakes that mirror the luminescence of Tentolini’s black-and-white portraits). Artfully created cocktails, including the Tea & Leche, were inspired by neighboring Wynwood murals. Before or after dinner, guests can venture to Higher Ground, the graffiti-adorned rooftop bar, which doubles as an outdoor art gallery. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees must RSVP via Eventbrite.
